Step Denver
receives Daniels Fund
inaugural “Medal of Excellence”
We are thrilled and grateful to share with you that our longstanding partner the Daniels Fund – founded by Bill Daniels – has awarded Step Denver its inaugural Medal of Excellence. This prestigious award included a $250,000 prize, which will be integral in Step’s efforts to bring the opportunity of recovery to more men throughout Colorado.
In 2023, the Daniels Fund awarded $54 million in grants to more than 350 nonprofit partners that are transforming their communities across Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.
The Salute to Excellence event recognized the work of three top-performing grantees: Climb Wyoming, Gold Crown Foundation and Step Denver – with Step being chosen as the winner.
"Bill was very open about his struggle with alcohol addiction and embraced sobriety after seeking treatment. We’re pleased to support Step Denver’s effective approach to recovery, teaching men to live with integrity and hold each other accountable while getting their lives back on track.” - Daniels Fund President and CEO Hanna Skandera
We are deeply honored and humbled that the Daniels Fund would recognize Step’s alignment with the values of Bill Daniels and are grateful for the Daniels Fund's support of our mission.
